DIY: How to Sew Fabric for an Ottoman EZ!

Materials for Sewing Fabric for Ottoman

Fabric- (1) 34″ x 19″ (Top)- The fabric that I used for this project is called Premier Print Steel

(2) 19″x 8″ (Sides)

(2) 34″ x 8″ Front and Back)

Sewing Machine

Thread

Pins

Marking Pencil or Marker

Directions for Sewing Fabric for Ottoman

1. Using a marking pencil or marker, draw a 32″ x 17″ rectangle on the 34″ x 19″ piece of fabric.

2. Draw a 17″ x 6″ rectangle on the 19″ x 8″ piece of fabric.

3. Draw a 32″ x 6″ rectangle on the 34″ x 8″ piece of fabric.

4. Next, lay the 19″ x 8″ pieces face up on a flat surface. Place the 34″ x 19″ piece on top face down. Match the drawn lines up and pin the two side pieces to the top piece. Sew together on the drawn line.

5. Lay the 34″ x 8″ pieces face up on a flat surface. Place the 34″ x 19″ piece face down on top with the sewn flaps hanging out. Match the drawn lines up and pin the front and back pieces to the top piece. Sew together on the drawn line.

6. Pin the front and back pieces to the side pieces and sew on the drawn line.

7. Lastly, cut the excess fabric and turn the fabric cover inside out.
